Stop Being a Secret: Why I’m Recommitting to Helping Business Owners Get Noticed with Better Marketing Photos
A number of years ago, I was contacted by a local bakery-café. I hadn’t heard of them before — despite them having two locations and arguably the best lunch menu in town.
Their menu and website photos were telling a different story. And that was the problem.
They needed some marketing photos for their website and the menu board in each location. Too many great businesses are held back by weak or outdated marketing photos.
It makes good businesses invisible. It turns what should be a clear, memorable brand into background noise — or worse, turns people away. No matter how good your product or service is, if your visual branding doesn’t match, people will feel like they got less than they actually did. And the reverse is also true. If you deliver a satisfactory product but your branding is strong, people will feel like they received a higher quality product and service.
I see it all the time. Louder, flashier content outweighs the product or services delivered.
So don’t ever underestimate the power of marketing and marketing photos.
That’s why I’m hitting reset.
Because I want to be doubly committed to helping small businesses overcome the challenges of digital marketing.

Why Your Marketing Photos Matter
In today’s digital world, visuals are your first impression. Your marketing photos should do more than look good — they should tell your story, build trust, and give customers a reason to believe in what you offer. And while doing this you want the to be delivering a sense of feeling, either adventure, inspiration, humour, or surprise – these are the things that tend to get more views.
Whether it’s your website, social media, menu boards, or ads, your images need to feel like you.
That’s why I’m making it my mission to help businesses create marketing photos that show the heart behind the business — not just the products on a shelf. Everyone has a story, and the best way to share your story is through photos that are engaging. Like this photo (below) that was for a company growing sprouts. They wanted the labels on their packages to support their message. Their story, that eating healthy is easy and tasty.

What I Believe
I believe every small business deserves to feel proud of how they show up in the world, and online.
Not perfect or overly polished, but genuine.
Just like your work — you should be happy to put your name on it.
And if you don’t feel that way yet, it’s time you did.
Claim your space online with marketing photos and messaging you can be proud of — visuals that show your clients they can trust in your product and service.
That’s where I come in.
